What we treat here

Common procedures in this region

Most operative trauma at OSI is ORIFopen reduction and internal fixation. The surgeon restores the bone's anatomic position (reduction) through a surgical exposure (open), then holds that position with plates, screws, rods, or wires (internal fixation) while the fracture heals. The implants and approach are chosen for each bone and each fracture pattern; the underlying principle is the same across the body: put the pieces back in the right place and hold them there.
